Originating from Germany in the 19th century, it’s ancestor is the mastiff. This dog looks aggressive and is extremely energetic, but it is very intelligent and affectionate. It is also quite responsible and extremely devoted to its owners, which is why they are often kept as domestic or guard dogs.
