Do avocados make your heart beat a little faster? They should, because they’re amazing!

Coronary heart disease is one of the major causes of death, especially in the Western world. And one of the major causes of this inflammatory heart disease is excessive consumption of foods that contain “bad” or LDL cholesterol. To put it simply, most deep fried, processed and similar unhealthy foods contain a lot of trans and poly saturated fats that are bad for you.

But it’s kind of difficult to eliminate this completely as its all around us!

Well, that’s where the mighty avocado comes in. One of the ways to minimize the effects of bad cholesterol is to punch it in the face with good (HDL) cholesterol, and you guessed it, avocados are rich in it! In other words, avocados contain a mono saturated fat called oleic acid, which helps balance cholesterol levels and reduce high blood pressure as well (both of which are major factors in heart health).
