Benny Hill was a British comedian who was rarely seen being serious. However, his career in the military was no joke. Hill served in the British Army. He was a searchlight operator, truck driver, and mechanic in the Army, making him somewhat of a jack-of-all-trades. Hill was part of the Anti-Aircraft Searchlight Battery.

Hill was called up in 1942. He landed in Normandy in 1944. Later on, in WWII, Hill would be deployed to Germany. After the war, he would have his own eponymous show. The Benny Hill Show, a British comedy, aired in 140 countries from 1955 until 1989.
