1. Just Chill Out!

Stress is one of the main things that cause all kinds of problems to our bodies, both inside and out. When you are stressed, your bodily organs might not function properly or you might become mentally ill. These are things that will manifest in your appearance. Stress leads to things like sleep deprivation, and constant frowning due to stress can lead to the development of dark circles, under-eye bags, wrinkles, frown lines, drooping skin, etc.

Furthermore, when you are stressed, you won’t be in the mindset of taking care of yourself or your skin, which means you won’t be eating healthy (which is essential) or have a proper skincare routine. Identify what it is that is causing you anxiety and try to rectify/get rid of it.

A person who is in-shape instantly looks young and healthy, while huffing and puffing after climbing just two flights of stairs will convince anyone your oooold.

The simple fact is that eating healthy keeps you healthy (ie. less likely to fall sick or develop diseases), which is important to look and feel youthful.

Some of the things that you should include more often into your diet to stay young include foods rich in good fats like fish and nuts, as well as superfruit like goji berries and pomegranates. Green tea has also been known for it’s anti-aging properties. Not only are these foods good for your outer appearance, they also help in the prevention of many diseases, age-related or otherwise.

You should also stay away from unhealthy foods. One of the main things you need to avoid in your diet is processed and refined food! These are the biggest culprits that cause you to look older, but unfortunately most people’s diets consist mainly of these.

Processed food is full of salt, which not only cause high blood pressure, but also wreaks havoc on skin by causing bloating, water retention, drooping, etc. Refined food like white sugar and all purpose flour are also full of empty calories. They have been processed to such an extent that they do not have any health properties whatsoever. Furthermore, sugar has been known to cause acne and breakouts while many people are allergic to gluten (without even knowing it). The only purpose they serve is to taste good, which is also something you can achieve through healthy foods that do benefit you.
